Why Build a Website?
I've been thinking of building a web site for quite a while now, I never could get around to doing it. Probably the biggest reason was that I didn't know what to put in it or what it would be about.
Most beginners will start out with a webpage to show off mum, dad and the kids. Surf the web and get an idea of what you like, get ideas of the layout, and plan out your site on a piece of paper and see how it looks.
It's always handy to know at least some HTML and there are plenty good building programs in the shops at a price or out there in the internet for free. Usually the free ones insist on placing their ads on your pages. You'll probably use their templates to begin with, but if you want an original site make your own.

This site is built with Trellix web and published on Tripod, if you want to try it out click on the banner. I downloaded the program (about 16 MB) but you can buy the reasonably priced CD. The great advantage here is that you can work offline at your leisure.
